The work study assistant is responsible for providing quality support for program related activities in-person at Ogden Contemporary Arts and its partner organizations. This role will provide critical guest services, inventory organization, exhibit, and evaluation support to ensure all customer service, education and exhibition programs are executed with efficiency, care, and skill for improving community access and evaluation. This role will work closely with the Executive Director, Program and Communications Manager, and Marketing Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Serve as assistant for our youth art programs. This includes inventory organization and classroom/student evaluations.
- Maintain a consistent, welcoming and informative presence when engaging with guest and partners in-person during OCA’s programs and events as scheduled.
- Work closely and collaboratively with OCA staff to provide critical support for marketing and communication of programs, exhibits and other OCA events by ensuring timely distribution of all program and event related information on online public calendars.
- Prepare workshop supplies for teaching artists, studio assistants and students.
- Assist with program evaluations, including conducting surveys to measure programmatic impact.
- Assist with community outreach.
- When scheduled and present during on-site programs and events, remain aware of facility and studio needs while assisting with set-up and tear-down of exhibitions and events.
- While connecting and building relationships with our community, Artists, and Guest Curators, receive and share feedback with OCA staff to help ensure that we are responsible to the needs of our community.
- Assist with conducting surveys and workshop assessments for all Art Factory programs as needed.
- Assist with the set up and tear down of Artist Factory Tours as needed.
- Keep a detailed and organized inventory of Artist Factory Supplies.
- Scan, upload, and organize Artist Factory documents as needed.
The Assistant must be detail oriented and organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to use and manage many forms of technology, strong time management skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, take initiative and problem solve, have a high level of interest or background in visual arts or art education with some experience in guest services and art education.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, mission centered and has some art handling experience.
