Job Title: Director of Worship Arts / Worship Leader

Location: Greenville, Illinois

Reports To: Senior Pastor

Primary Focus: Contemporary Worship Leadership & Team Development

Greenville Free Methodist Church (GFMC) is seeking a Spirit‑led, creative, and collaborative Director of Worship Arts to help give spiritual form and shape to our worship gatherings. This full‑time role involves leading worship, developing worship and creative arts teams, and crafting engaging, gospel‑centered worship experiences—especially within our contemporary worship service
.

Located just one hour east of St. Louis, GFMC is a vibrant congregation offering a blend of traditional and contemporary services
, with active ministries that extend into:

• Weekly youth worship gatherings

• Celebrate Recovery worship

• Outreach worship services at the local Federal Corrections Institute

We are deeply connected to Greenville University
, a Free Methodist‑affiliated college with a strong Worship Arts and Theology program—creating a unique opportunity for partnership, mentorship, and investment in the next generation of worship leaders.

• Lead worship for contemporary Sunday services and special gatherings

• Shape the spiritual and creative flow of weekly worship experiences

• Recruit, develop, and disciple musicians, vocalists, and creative teams

• Collaborate with staff to integrate Scripture, prayer, and creative elements into worship

• Engage with Greenville University students and interns as part of a worship ministry pipeline

• Participate in church outreach through music (e.g., Celebrate Recovery, prison ministry)

• Assist in planning and evaluating worship services in alignment with church vision

• A passionate follower of Jesus with a love for the local church

• Skilled in vocal and instrumental worship leadership

• Experienced in leading contemporary worship services

• Comfortable equipping and mentoring worship volunteers and younger leaders

• Creative and collaborative in integrating music, Scripture, and media

• Values both theological depth and artistic expression

• Able to build relational bridges across generations and worship styles
