Dance Camp Counselor 2026: The Dance Camp Counselor is a seasonal position that will be working with campers that range from 5 to 13 years of age. The counselor must be enthusiastic, caring, and committed to providing an outstanding experience for the campers. They will be responsible for leading daily activities, maintaining good communication with parents and campers, supervision and leadership of their camp group and planning camp activities.

Dance camp counselors must be proficient in at least two styles of dance, including ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, poms and hip-hop.

The Dance Camp Counselor is responsible for:

• Leading daily activities and planning camp activities for campers aged 5 to 13
• Maintaining clear communication with parents and campers
• Supervising and leading the counselor’s camp group
• Providing a safe, enthusiastic, and engaging camp experience
• Demonstrating proficiency in at least two dance styles (e.g., ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, poms, hip-hop)

Qualifications: The Dance Camp Counselor position is open to all qualified applicants 16 years of age (as of June 1, 2026) and older. Some 15 year olds may be considered, depending on qualifications. Previous dance experience is required. Must feel comfortable leading group activities with children grades 1-8.

The program runs approximately 9:15 am – 3:15 pm Monday – Friday. Exact dates of camp will be released soon. Camp training is mandatory and will begin as early as June 1, 2026.

$15 - $20, depending on experience

Free Fitness Center pass for employees who work 8 hours or more per week, along with other discounts towards Park District programs.
