The Manager of Inside Sales & Order Management leads a customer-facing team responsible for order processing, service support, and issue resolution. This role ensures a seamless order-to-delivery experience, timely communication with customers, and efficient coordination between Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, maintain high service standards, and support the organization’s commitment to responsiveness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Inside Sales and Order Management team to ensure exceptional customer service and order accuracy.
- Manage the full order lifecycle including order entry, tracking, modifications, and delivery coordination.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues related to pricing, shipments, product availability, and order discrepancies.
- Partner closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Production, and Logistics to support timely fulfillment and proactive communication with customers.
- Maintain accurate customer data, documentation, and pricing records within SAP and Salesforce systems.
- Monitor order flow, backlog, and service-level metrics; prepare and distribute routine reports.
- Support key accounts through quotes, product inquiries, and status updates.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce order errors, and improve customer experience.
- Train and mentor team members in systems, procedures, and communication best practices.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, credit terms, export requirements, and applicable contract conditions.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve order management and customer service processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in inside sales, customer service, or order management leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing or rail industry experience required.
- Proven experience leading teams in a high-volume, call-center or transactional B2B environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and CRM systems, with hands-on experience in SAP and Salesforce strongly preferred
. - Demonstrated experience supporting B2B industrial or manufacturing customers, including complex order entry, fulfillment, and customer coordination.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills with a track record of driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data, metrics, and reporting to improve order accuracy, customer satisfaction, and sales effectiveness.
