Staff Accountant

Location: Brighton

Description Robert Half Talent Solutions is partnering with an Illinois employer looking for a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing transactional processes, and supporting overall financial operations in compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements-including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements-in accordance with accounting standards.

- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely in the general ledger.

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

- Perform bank statement and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as needed.

- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual results against targets.

- Support the establishment and maintenance of effective internal control procedures to protect company assets.

- Provide documentation and explanations to support internal and external audit processes.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, or areas for process improvement.

- Participate in special accounting projects and initiatives as assigned by senior team members or management.

- Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance function.

Ideal

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 1+ year of relevant experience in general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or financial reporting.

- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Quick Books preferred) and Microsoft Excel.

- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
