This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
The purpose of this position is to provide accounts payable and purchasing expertise and support for research and training projects in the Office of the Associate Dean for Research (OADR) in the School of Social Work. Additionally, this position will act as front desk receptionist for the John Hargis Hall (JHH) building.
Responsibilities- Process Purchase Orders and Service Agreement requests, amendments and cancellations.
- Process payments for sub-awards, consultants and other payment types such as DEFINE and Tango.
- Review and process all Office of the Associate Dean for Research (OADR) UT Market Cart orders.
- Audit and process Cash Advance and Tango requests in accordance with The University of Texas at Austin policies, rules and regulations.
- Provide a variety of administrative tasks including but not limited to parking validation, maintaining internal department contact lists, coordinating with facilities for maintenance, processing room requests and calendar for John Hargis Hall (JHH). Collect, sort, distribute, and maintain mail and packages for the appropriate institutes and employees wer main line phone and email inquiries et walk-ins in a professional, informative manner.
Experience in accounting or related field. Experience working at an institute of higher education and/or with research accounts. Experience with DEFINE and/or Workday systems. Accounting and/or bookkeeping experience. Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams). Excellent attention to detail. Ability to take initiative. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to process multi-faceted information. Ability to coordinate and monitor information for high-volume, fast-paced research office.
Excellent time-management skills. Values the contributions of others in the work environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting or related field. Experience with UT-specific systems.
Salary Range$50,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions
