Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team. This role has evolved over the years to place a stronger emphasis on financial reporting, project management, and oversight of accounting staff, including direct management of team members. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in real estate accounting, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multi‑entity financial operations.
This position will also support family office accounting and related financial matters.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
- Develop and maintain supporting schedules, reconciliations, and work papers.
- Lead the preparation of financial reporting packages and deliverables.
- Perform variance analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across AP, AR, cash management, and general ledger functions.
- Manage multi‑entity accounting, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
- Lead accounting projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to accounting staff, including direct supervision of team members (e.g., Alex).
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with property management, development, and executive leadership.
- Stay informed on real estate industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions that may impact financial reporting or investment decisions.
- Assist with family office accounting, reporting, and financial organization.
- Support ad‑hoc financial projects, investment analysis, and other related matters as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in the real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of property accounting, multi‑entity structures, and real estate financial reporting preferred.
- Proficiency in Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, and real estate accounting platforms such as App Folio or Yardi.
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
