Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting financial strength. Leads a team of accounting professionals and partners with Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to deliver timely, data‑driven insights. Ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting experience and cost‑structure expertise.

Annualized base salary range: $120,000 – $150,000. Relocation assistance not available. Position is 100% on‑site at Bedford Park, IL.

Key Responsibilities Financial & Operational Accounting
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities, including general ledger management and month‑end close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of GAAP financial statements.
  • Manage cost accounting processes, variance analysis, and cost‑reporting reconciliation.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile accounts; support cycle counts and year‑end physical inventory.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger.
  • Coordinate year‑end external audit process as primary liaison with auditors.
  • Maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulation.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, promoting accuracy and collaboration.
  • Define performance expectations and uphold a strong control environment.
Process Improvement & Controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and transparency.
  • Strengthen internal controls and support ERP optimization and upgrades.
Financial Planning & Analysis Support
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial modeling.
  • Provide financial insights to plant and corporate leadership.
  • Prepare ad‑hoc analysis and reporting for senior management.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing or a similarly complex operational environment.
  • Prior supervisory or team‑lead experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Experience with Acumatica preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
