Are you an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker in Ilkeston looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely change lives?

Balfor Recruitment is recruiting dedicated and resilient Children’s Support Workers to work in children’s residential homes in Ilkeston and surrounding areas. You will support children and young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and complex needs, helping them to feel safe, supported, and valued.

You will work with children and young people who may present with:

• Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
• Learning Disabilities (LD)
• Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
• Complex needs, including trauma-related behaviours

Your role will play a vital part in promoting emotional wellbeing, stability, and positive outcomes.

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans
• Acting as a Key Worker, attending reviews and contributing to care planning
• Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and daily routines
• Promoting safeguarding, welfare, and positive outcomes always
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing residential environment
• Completing accurate daily records, incident reports, and handovers
• Working collaboratively with senior staff, social workers, and external professionals

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• At least 1 year’s experience working with children or young people
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience supporting children with Autism, challenging behaviour, self-harm, or emotional distress
