Role Overview
The post holder will undertake Occupational Therapy needs assessments for children and young people aged 0-19, including those with complex health, physical, and developmental needs. The role sits within Redbridge Children's Targeted Services and requires a confident, experienced practitioner able to manage assessments autonomously while working closely with families and multidisciplinary partners.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive OT needs assessments for children and young people aged 0-19.
Assess children with complex health needs, identifying functional impact and appropriate interventions.
Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to support daily living, independence, and participation.
Contribute to care planning in partnership with families, education settings, health professionals, and social care teams.
Complete high-quality written assessments and documentation within agreed timescales.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
Work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
Demonstrable experience completing OT needs assessments for children and young people aged 0-19.
Experience working with children who have complex health and developmental needs.
Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a caseload autonomously and work to deadlines.
Desirable
Experience or knowledge of specialist equipment provision (desirable but not essential).
Previous experience within children's services, community, or local authority settings.
