Were looking for an enthusiastic and clinically driven Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Ilford on a fixed-term contract, up to 12 months
. Working 22.5 hours per week
, youll play a key part in delivering safe, patient-focused pharmacy services across a range of elective specialities including Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology and Endoscopy.

Main duties of the job- Providing clinical ward cover, dispensary support and expert advice to consultants, nursing teams and patients.
- Screening prescriptions, reconciling medicines, reviewing drug charts and ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based use of medicines.
- Supporting the development of enhanced recovery pathways, antimicrobial stewardship, VTE prevention and perioperative medicines optimisation.
- Participating in MDT meetings, ward rounds and outpatient services.
- Contributing to governance activities such as audits, formulary reviews, incident learning and protocol development.
- Working closely with the Site Lead Pharmacist to maintain high standards of clinical quality, patient safety and medicines legislation compliance.
- Providing training, guidance and medicines management education to clinical colleagues.
- Supporting the design of new processes and digital approaches to improve workflow, safety and patient experience.

Qualifications- Motivated, knowledgeable pharmacist
- Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent) and GPhC registration.
- Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate or willingness to work toward this.
- Experience as a clinical pharmacist with a good understanding of hospital or multidisciplinary care.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to apply evidence-based practice.
- Sound knowledge of therapeutics, NICE guidance and current hospital pharmacy practices.
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- A positive, proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and safe patient care.
- Desirable qualities include experience in perioperative medicine, specialist areas, audit, and independent prescribing.
