Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work Full Time based in Redbridge.

The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £54,056per annum.

  • Prepare material for and co-chair fostering recruitment events and Skills to Foster Training.
  • Complete assessments of Connected Carers, Special Guardians and Private Adopters, in preparation for filling with the court work and be prepared to attend court and give evidence where required.
  • Assess capabilities, attitude and suitability of prospective Foster Carers, Connected Carers, and Special Guardians within the recommended timescales.
  • Assist with recruitment campaigns and advertising for Foster Carers.
  • Consistently and clearly inform prospective foster carers of their role and ensure they are familiar with good childcare practices.
  • Respond to queries/concerns raised in the course of the assessment.
  • Provide supervision and support to identified Foster Carers.
  • Co-chair Placement Planning meetings for children to assist in their placement.
  • Attend LAC reviews for the children in placement with allocated Foster Carers.
  • Keep casefile updated on individual cases as required.
  • Liaise with and advice colleagues, as necessary in preparing children and young people for foster placements.
  • Ensure that all Foster Carers complete the TSDS and minimum training requirements on an annual basis.
  • Support professionals with identifying children within Private Fostering placements.
  • Arrange and attend meetings related to the foster carer including standards of care meetings.
  • Remain child-focused at all times.
  • Attend supervision with Line Manager regularly keeping that person-informed of progress sin assessments and any difficulties.
  • Coordinate efforts to secure foster families for named children.
  • Maintain and use records and data, including electronic systems.
  • Develop a relationship of trust and understanding with service users and colleagues.
  • Develop own specialist skills.
  • Any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of the post, as may from time to time be required.

Requirements of this Supervising Social Worker role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
