About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join our team at our Stratford, London Head Office. This is a critical role responsible for managing and optimising direct material spend across the business, ensuring value for money, strong supplier performance, and effective risk management.
Aligned with Qmed’s vision and mission, this role plays a key part in building ethical, transparent, and resilient supply partnerships that support our pharmaceutical operations.
You will lead sourcing and category strategies, provide market insight, manage contracts, and ensure procurement activities align with regulatory, quality, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic sourcing and category management strategies for direct materials
- Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities to reduce spend and improve efficiency
- Design and execute effective commercial negotiation strategies
- Conduct cost, scenario, and benchmarking analysis to support decision‑making
- Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement‑related risks, ensuring continuity of supply
- Monitor market trends and anticipate changes in supplier dynamics and negotiation power
- Contribute directly to procurement performance targets and savings objectives. optimising sourcing procedures to maximise efficiency, value, and compliance
- Develop, manage, and monitor supplier contracts, including KPIs and SLAs, budgets and cost control initiatives.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience- Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical procurement role or similar.
- Proven experience working cross‑functionally within a multi‑business‑unit organisation
- Experience managing and developing teams with varied skill levels
- Must have strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles, techniques, and best practices
- Must have experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Working knowledge of cost management and risk management
