Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of their clients work and have the opportunity to get involved in business development activity. Excellent communication skills, initiative and the ability to organise yourself an others are essential.

Job details:

Preparing the accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders

Preparing of business tax and Corporation Tax computations and returns

Preparing self-assessment and partnership tax returns

Reviewing accounting and tax work prepared by others

Managing workload and client expectations

Working within budgets set at the planning stage

Overseeing junior staff in the preparation of accounts, providing training where required and assisting with their development

Ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages internal and supporting clients accounting systems

Taking an active role in business development, and promoting the firm in the local area

Maintaining good working relationships with clients and staff

Attending training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills

Experience and skills required:

Qualified (ACA, ACCA), Part Qualified or QBE

Experience of working in an accountancy practice

Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and priorities

Excellent communication skills both written and oral

Experience of Sage, Quick Books and similar programmes is desirable
