Summary

Schows Truck Center is looking for a Journeyman Diesel Technician to join our Heyburn, . As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be essential in diagnosing and repairing various diesel engines and heavy equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair; reports defects or malfunctions to service writer or manager.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems.
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years heavy duty diesel technician experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge with good communication skills.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and driving record investigation.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and handle tools.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Frequently required to walk to all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Frequently required to walk in or around environments where customers conduct their business.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
