Movie Theater Attendant​/Projectionist

The Movie Theater Attendant/Projectionist is responsible for the daily operation of the theater during scheduled shifts. This role typically works independently and handles opening and closing the theater, operating projection and sound equipment, selling concessions and tickets, providing customer service, and cleaning the facility after showings. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working alone.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Open the theater for scheduled showings
• Start, monitor, and shut down projection and sound equipment
• Ensure movies are shown correctly and on schedule
• Troubleshoot basic technical issues and report larger problems as needed
• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Sell tickets and concession items
• Handle cash and/or point-of-sale transactions accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels of concession areas
• Clean theater before and after showings, including auditoriums, restrooms, and lobby
• Take out trash and restock supplies as needed
• Ensure the theater is safe, clean, and presentable for patrons
• Secure the building at the end of the shift
• Shut down equipment and lights
• Complete any required end-of-day reports or cash reconciliation

Qualifications:

• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Projection and sound equipment knowledge a plus
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
• Can safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
