Must-Have:
Strong Labor and Delivery experience with some recent experience in LDRP or postpartum care.
Comfortable managing laboring patients autonomously, especially during nights and weekends.
Skills in newborn stabilization are essential.
Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in a unit dedicated to women's services.
The position involves caring for laboring and postpartum patients, as well as well mothers and babies, including high-risk and critical patients.
Common diagnoses include hypertensive crises and hemorrhage protocols.
The nurse will stabilize patients until transfer if necessary.
The role requires the RN to manage and care for both mother and baby for the first couple of hours post-delivery.
Two RNs will be present on each shift.
Nurses will be required to titrate drips such as magnesium and Pitocin.
There will be a charge nurse on each shift to offer support.
The staff will assist with tasks as needed for safety within the unit.
The facility operates under a shared hospitalist model for pediatric care with on-call support.
Nurses are expected to wear surgical scrubs, with specific attire rules applying during delivery.
The electronic charting system utilized in the unit is Epic.
Weekends and holiday shifts will be equitably distributed among core staff.
Nurses must ensure adherence to safety protocols and provide care within their scope of practice.
The position requires professionalism and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
