ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.
• Perform occasional welding and light fabrication.
• Generate work orders; check on the status of orders, and pick up parts and supplies from warehouse. Operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance.
• Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental.
• Must follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities.
• Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
• Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.

• Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work nights, weekends, and rotating shifts.
