Nightforce Optics is seeking a skilled Quality Control Manager to provide management and oversight to the Quality Control department and ensure all products and components meet rigorous quality and efficiency standards. Partnering closely with the Management Team, this leader will drive quality excellence programs and guide all inspection processes for incoming and internally manufactured parts.
EssentialJob Duties
- Responsible for driving and overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the entire Quality Control department.
- Lead department initiatives to meet operational objectives and support process improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with multiple departments on monitoring quality metrics, targets and reaction plans for internal and external suppliers, and oversee tasks associated with inspecting and documenting components.
- Develop and manage Work Instructions, Control Plans, and calibration schedules for the department.
- Monitor and evaluate current processes, making recommendations to increase quality and productivity.
- Develop annual QC strategies and goals based on input from executive and operations management, assessing effectiveness and impact.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system, monitoring progress against strategic quality goals.
- Assist with budgeting and monitor monthly department costs.
- Develop and manage a team that understands, values, and is dedicated to the Nightforce Brand.
- Hire, evaluate performance, and train Quality Control staff.
- Foster a culture of quality and positivity.
- Provide counsel and recommendations when responding to employee inquiries and coaching personnel regarding policies and procedures.
- Oversee personnel administration for the team and collaborate with Human Resources on payroll processing, leave, benefits, position descriptions, and recruitment strategies.
– Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years in a quality control environment.
- 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience.
- A strong desire to develop, lead, and mentor others.
- Proficiency in using metrics to make data‑driven, strategic decisions.
- In‑depth knowledge of quality control procedures, equipment, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accurate documentation skills.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, dimensioning, tolerancing, and operating CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) or other metrology tools.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must possess a high level of visual acuity.
- Occasional pulling/pushing up to 25 pounds.
- Bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling/crawling, reaching, and finger dexterity as required.
- Frequent sitting, computer/mouse use, and standing.
- Occasional driving.
