SUMMARY

As a member of the maintenance team, the Building Maintenance Technician will serve as the first line of defense and past what the public sees when it comes to general maintenance and upkeep, light bulbs, mechanical issues, food service equipment, Furniture, Fixture, Equipment (FF&E). This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere that will inspire guests and associates to return.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a positive work environment by managing, leading, working, and communicating in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Respond to and follow up on internal service requests.
  • Perform pre-arrival inspections.
  • See past what the guest sees – daily building checks to make sure everything is in place and functioning.
  • Lead by example, fostering departmental teamwork and collaboration with other departments.
  • Maintain awareness of all safety, state & federal sanitation and security procedures relevant to the department and property. Ensure department members are familiar with and adhere to them as well.
  • Support revenue stream by making sure all equipment is in 100% working order.
  • Support the customer service goals of the company and the department.
  • Perform any reasonable tasks as requested by management.
  • Work and perform all maintenance-related issues.
  • Actively supervise the greetings of our guests.
  • Maintain superior cleanliness of facility and follow up on maintenance needs with all parties: F&B, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Attend and contribute to required meetings and training classes.
  • Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures.
SPECIALIZED PAINTING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform interior and exterior painting for walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting including patching, sanding, caulking, priming, and cleaning.
  • Match and mix paint colors using color matching tools and paint codes.
  • Maintain inventory of painting supplies and materials; notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Apply various finishes including latex, oil-based, epoxy, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Protect non-painted surfaces by using drop cloths, masking tape, and other precautionary materials.
  • Identify and repair minor drywall damage, water stains, or surface imperfections prior to painting.
  • Maintain cleanliness of painting tools and proper storage of flammable materials in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all painting projects meet aesthetics, quality, and durability standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule and complete painting tasks with minimal disruption to guests or operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience painting, preferably in a commercial or hospitality setting.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation, paint types, and application techniques.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety procedures related to painting and use of ladders or scaffolding.
  • Basic knowledge of drywall repair and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
