The Technology Business Analyst acts as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the organization's technology solutions align with business needs. This role requires a propensity for analyzing complex problems, defining system requirements, documenting processes, troubleshooting issues, and recommending options to improve efficiency and drive value.
Job Description Gathering and Documenting Requirements- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Document technical requirements and create technical specifications for development teams.
- Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Propose solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Evaluate existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Propose solutions to optimize processes and enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Work closely with project managers and technical teams during project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Ensure solutions meet defined objectives and are delivered on time.
- Assist the project team in gathering additional requirements when gaps are identified.
- Support testing efforts by developing a comprehensive UAT test plan and assisting the business in creating test cases.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, including defect tracking and resolution to ensure a smooth testing process.
- Facilitate clear communication between business units and IT teams.
- Prepare presentations and documentation for stakeholders.
- Assess the impact of changes to requirements and help manage scope creep.
- Assist in developing training materials and help documents for new or revised systems.
- Assist in focusing on Value Streams and Customer Journeys.
- Design value streams and customer experience maps.
- Identify how business capabilities deliver value to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and methodologies.
- Develop skills to bring innovative ideas to the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred to have a Master of Business Administration.
- 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, design, and controls development.
- Proven expertise in monitoring the effectiveness of business processes and controls.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex processes into clear, understandable, and operationally viable controls.
- Proficient in process mapping and business process management tools (e.g., Visio).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Self‑starter with an innovative mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
