Job Description

Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems and engages in the scientific study of human communication. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.

Essential Job Functions

Performs comprehensive speech and language assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and safety evaluations, documented within 24 hours of admission.

Develops a plan of care to promote optimal function and safety, incorporating patient goals.

Provides skilled speech therapy treatment in the home, reassessing the client's status during each visit, and ensuring quality of care.

Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members to ensure optimal outcomes.

Follows hospital exposure control plans and safety protocols.

Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Ensures regular and predictable attendance as an essential job function.

Communicates effectively with patients, families, and co-workers in person, in writing, and via telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech Pathology required.
Current State of Idaho Speech Language Pathologist Licensure or temporary SLP Provisional Permit required.
Certification with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) required or to be obtained upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
Preferred:
Minimum of 1-year experience with adult and/or pediatric neurologically impaired patients.
