Job Summary
This position requires that the employee flex between four departments (Infection Prevention, Employee Health, Quality, Antibiotic Stewardship). Primary job responsibility is to assist the Director of Quality with Infection Prevention and Employee Health policies and procedures, record keeping, staff education and competencies.
Essential Job Functions- Resource for questions and issues dealing with infection prevention (IP) and employee health (EH).
- Surveillance as needed for IP and EH.
- Monitors and audits measures as appropriate (specifics based on CMS, CDC, and hospital interests).
- Submits data as required.
- Chairs the Infection Prevention Committee; developing the agenda, ensuring minutes, submits audit and investigation information.
- Develops and maintains IP and EH policies.
- Tracks all IP and EH education and competencies.
- Responsible for all IP and EH training and competencies completed.
- Maintains CMS requirements for IP program.
- Completes annual hospital risk assessment and IP plan.
- Monitors IP and EH compliance within each department.
- Meets with new hires to coordinate titers and immunizations and documents employee results in the EHR as needed.
- Responsible for coordination of yearly N95 mask fit tests for clinical personnel.
- Responsible for coordination of yearly influenza vaccination process for staff.
- Follows up employee sick calls and exposure incidents.
- Be a resource for questions and issues.
- Submits reports to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program as needed.
- Aid to Quality department in data abstraction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BSN or ASN degree in Nursing required.
- Two years of clinical care or nursing experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred).
- Requires a candidate who is able to manage multiple tasks efficiently due to split job duties.
- Function as a resource for staff, visitors and patients regarding Infection Prevention.
- Computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to listen and be empathetic.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
