Pharmacy Project Tech – St. Mary's Health & Clearwater Valley Health
Perform extensive administrative functions to support departmental operations. As a certified pharmacy technician, prepare, compound, and dispense medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. The position may also require assistance to pharmacists in retail and/or hospital setting.
Essential Job Functions- Coordinate and perform department needs for projects, reporting, research, meetings, and committee work.
- Provide departmental administrative support, including scheduling of staff.
- Perform functions related to auditing inter‑ and intra‑departmental processes, and complete audit requests from external entities.
- Participate in standard operating procedure development and posting as assigned.
- Participate in the development and training of pharmacy technicians.
- Perform duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician, including inventory and supply management.
- Communicate effectively with customers.
- Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of the department functions and processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Follow hospital exposure control plans and blood‑borne/airborne pathogen protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follow HIPAA regulations and policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Communicate with co‑workers in person, in writing, and on telephone.
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy (preferred).
- Hired as of 6/1/2009, CPhT required.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Demonstrated expertise in pharmacy systems.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into data‑based software programs.
- BLS required.
- St. Mary's and Clearwater Health operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Operational needs may require availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Clinic locations have operation hours based on patient needs; availability to work all clinic shifts, weekends, and holidays is expected and required.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position for 8–12 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and frequently stoop, bend, reach, lift, and push heavy equipment.
- Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature, and handheld materials.
- Work with equipment and computers (keyboarding).
