Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
- PRN - (As Needed) - Days - 10 Hour Shifts
Responsible for procedures in the cardiac cath lab specialty. Responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
Responsibilities- Insert small catheters into the blood vessels and into the heart or other organs and structures so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the function of the structure or organ.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards.
- Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
- Correctly scrub, monitor and circulate procedures in catheterization laboratory and/or hybrid OR.
- Perform a variety of tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential job function.
- Be competent to meet age‑specific needs of the unit assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Invasive Technology training program or 2 years’ experience in a related field required.
- 12 months’ prior experience as a cardiovascular invasive technologist preferred.
- Must be actively rotating and working in each laboratory specialty or procedures within a year of hire.
- Complete initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by laboratory specialties.
- BLS required.
- ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- Must be available to be on call, as needed, and able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes of a page when on call.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position.
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend.
- Must be able to push, pull or transport heavy equipment.
