Patient Access Registrars perform registration and hospital admission functions across St. Marys Health or Clearwater Valley Health locations. Responsibilities include collecting patient and insurance information, verifying insurance eligibility, processing admissions, transfers, discharges, and obtaining signatures on required forms. They greet patients and visitors courteously, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to HIPAA and other regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Register and direct patients in various hospital and clinic areas.
  • Collect demographic and insurance information at the point of service.
  • Verify insurance coverage for accurate billing.
  • Refer uninsured patients to Financial Counseling.
  • Collect deposits and copayments.
  • Obtain signatures on registration and consent forms.
  • Scan insurance and  into the electronic record.
  • Communicate relevant patient information to clinical departments.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completes mandatory training.
  • Requires creativity and latitude.
  • Knowledge of standard practices in Patient Access industry.
  • Uses experience and judgment to meet goals.
  • Capable of meeting age-specific needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Regular attendance is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience or education in front office procedures preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Proficiency in business practices and computer applications preferred.

This is a PRN, as-needed position. CVH is an EOE employer.
