- Coordinate the team on assigned tasks and ensure release for production on time.
- Schedule tasks to balance the load across the team.
- Collaborate with other areas to ready orders as scheduled.
- Lead internal projects to improve processes and tools alongside other teams and business excellence teams.
- Lead training activities and serve as a mentor and coach for developing engineers.
- Act as technical lead to a team of designers who transform concepts into new or updated 3D models.
- Help improve products by identifying design enhancements and guiding them through integration and deployment.
- Execute assigned “Design to Order” tasks, including new 3D mechanical designs for projects.
- Work with the Factory Support and Liaison team to diagnose and resolve engineering issues.
- Complete assigned “Product Support” tasks based on non-conformances and design errors, updating and correcting existing assemblies.
- Manage the list of materials and mechanical assemblies needed for technical requirements of the project.
- Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies, validate functionality, and release parts/assemblies to production.
- Provide support and feedback to the Siemens MV AIS R&D team regarding design library effectiveness and market trends.
- Hybrid work permitted.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or equivalent technical engineering role.
- At least two (2) years working with medium voltage power distribution equipment.
- Experience coaching and training developing engineers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in a 3D design environment.
- Experience with complex engineering Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Experience with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
