This is a salaried position assigned to the Licensed Employee Salary Schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY: The teacher will implement appropriate educational curriculum based on the Nevada Academic Content Standards and course syllabi, create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning, and support school and district programs and goals. This person reports directly to the school site administrator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer appropriate district curriculum aligned with the Nevada Academic Content Standards.
  • Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
  • Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition.
  • Develop and implement components of an effective instructional lesson.
  • Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
  • Provide a classroom management and discipline plan ensuring safety at all times.
  • Ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed.
  • Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
  • Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
  • Integrate technology into the instructional program.
  • Participate in other job‑related duties and activities as assigned.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability in classroom instruction.
  • Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members.
  • Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with objectives.
  • Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
  • Maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by the principal.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Licenses and

Certifications:

  • Must possess or be able to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education.
  • Certified in relevant subject area.
  • Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements upon hire.
