Substitute Teacher/Parapro/Aide/Bus Driver/Food Service/Custodian

Report To:
Building Principal
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Holds at least a High School Diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong sense of teamwork, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and a collaborative attitude.
Job Goal: To provide the instruction in place of the regular teacher of assigned students keeping within the law, Board policies and administrative regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises classroom, students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
  • Follows lesson plan designed by classroom teacher
  • Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Possesses computer skills necessary for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly stands or walks, and occasionally sits and talks. The employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly pushes items of 50 pounds such as boxes of books, AV/VCR carts and supplies. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.

The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. While most duties are performed indoors, the employee may be required to perform duties on occasion outdoors in various types of weather, including inclement weather with temperatures at or below freezing for extended periods of time.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

An employee working in this position shall at all times be subject to the direction of the supervisor to whom said employee has primary responsibility or said person's designee(s) and at all times shall be subject to the rules, regulations and policies of the District as promulgated by the Board of Trustees. Each employee shall be held responsible for having knowledge of said school district rules, regulations, and policies which have been reduced to writing and made available to the employee at the building administrator's office and the district-wide administration office.
