Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy; we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering, and construction.

As the Construction Project Coordinator, you will report to the Construction Project Manager (CPM). Provide CPM and Document Control Project Manager (DCPM) with support on project information in the Electronic Data Management System and tracking of submittals, Requests for Information (RFI’s) and quality records to assist in keeping the schedule on track. May work with multiple subcontracts. This position is contractor facing with an emphasis on ensuring Schedule, Cost, Scope and Safety for the Spent Fuel Handling Project near the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Lab.

The Construction Project Coordinator will facilitate communication with all Construction Project Managers, client and subcontractor staff and/or their consultants, in carrying out their day-to-day duties by:

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct the end-to-end review and approval process for subcontractor submittals and change orders, exercising independent judgement in identifying issues, recommending resolutions, and ensuring alignment with project objectives. Provide the Construction Project Manager with strategic deliverables that inform and shape onsite change documentation
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and manage status of outstanding submittals ensures responsible reviewers of submittals complete their review in accordance with project schedule deadlines
  • Participate in assigned meetings to document weekly job progress; issues meeting minutes and follows up with actions assigned to ensure they are completed to maintain project schedule
  • Develop and author Technical Change Requests (TCR’s) and Correspondence to Supplier (CTS) letters and provides to project team. Update, review and maintain Technical Document List (TDL)
  • Analyze and adjudicate variances of subcontract submittals, Requests for Information (RFI’s), Non-Conformances (NCR’s), etc. to maintain project schedule
  • Preparation and communication on project metrics and status of project submittals and other pertinent logs
  • Manage, organize, and support the construction project and the subcontractors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field; work experience can substitute for education
  • Some experience on similar Department of Energy and/or large construction projects
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and technical submittals for compliance
  • Working knowledge of computer software systems for processing submittals, includes Microsoft Office suite and databases
  • Ability to maintain continuous communication with the Contract Manager, Project Controls Manager, senior engineer(s), and client personnel
  • Must be able to walk long distances over potential rough terrain in all types of typical weather conditions
  • The ability to climb stairs and ladders to inspect work is also required
  • Exposure to weather elements while in the field is expected
  • Excellent communication skills as this position is client facing
  • USA citizenship is required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
Preferred
  • Experience with PROLOG Software system (or similar)
  • NQA-1 understanding/experience
  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training
  • Someone already residing a commutable distance from the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Lab area to make the commute daily is preferred
Essential Functions

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
