Courier​/Swing Drvr​/CDL

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick‑up of packages; checks shipments for conformance to Fed Ex features of service; provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; provides related customer service functions; includes the delivery, pick‑up or shuttle of dangerous goods packages which require the vehicle to be placarded. Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma/GED

• Six (6) months courier experience preferred.

• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability & excellent courier methods.
• Must meet & maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Must pass all Fed Ex Express & regulatory/statutory required background checks or security threat assessments.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

• FMCSA covered safety sensitive position. Medical exam required.
• Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Must obtain & maintain valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for type of vehicle assigned & have good driving record as outlined in policy.
• Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
