Outbound Dispatcher – Trucking Operations
Location: Idaho Falls, (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay Range: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, based on experience
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Outbound Dispatcher to manage outbound trucking operations. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers and equipment leaving Idaho Falls, managing assigned customer and broker freight, and securing additional outbound loads as capacity becomes available.
This position is central to daily operations and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers, brokers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all outbound trucks and drivers departing from Idaho Falls
- Dispatch drivers on assigned customer and broker loads
- Coordinate and secure additional outbound freight as trucks become available
- Upload, review, and verify all rate confirmations and load confirmation details, ensuring accuracy of load numbers, pickup and delivery locations, appointment times, special instructions, and customer requirements
- Communicate load details, schedules, and expectations clearly to drivers
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with brokers and customers
- Monitor load progress and assist with issues such as delays, changes, or breakdowns
- Ensure accurate load documentation and clear communication with internal teams
- Support overall operational efficiency and service quality
- Prior experience in trucking dispatch, logistics, or transportation preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with brokers, customers, and drivers
- Ability to treat drivers fairly and respectfully, remaining calm, professional, and solution-focused when problems or challenges arise
- Familiarity with dispatch software, load boards, and basic computer systems (e.g., Trimble, PC
* MILER, Samsara) - Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
