The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in the psychiatric department, collaborating with medical providers and the interdisciplinary team. The RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and supports the organization’s vision, mission, values to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s); document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, striving to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
- Serve as the interface between healthcare providers and community support systems to coordinate ongoing care needs for specialized patient groups.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) credential.
- Driver’s license (DL). (If required.)
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
