ED – REGISTERED NURSE – Mountain View Hospital

Apply today to join our team of dedicated nurses. We are looking for a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in our emergency department.

Job Summary: Provides direct patient care in the emergency department, communicates with physicians, nurse manager, and co-workers about patient status and diagnostic results, responds rapidly to changes in patient condition, and performs general nursing duties across departments under appropriate supervision.

• Perform head‑to‑toe assessments and reassessments for all patient populations (pediatric, geriatric, adult).
• Assess pain and use appropriate pain management techniques; educate patients and families.
• Revise plans of care as needed based on patient response and evaluate overall effectiveness daily.
• Conduct glucometer and point‑of‑care testing per laboratory policies.
• Interpret laboratory results and notify providers following protocols.
• Provide patient care with consideration of age‑specific standard of care.
• Administer medications safely, honoring the five medication rights and using electronic scanning where possible.
• Develop and evaluate patient education plans, including family participation.
• Assist physicians with procedures and provide technical/manual nursing services.

Benefits eligibility varies by full‑time, part‑time, or PRN status.

Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program, current RN licensure in Idaho. Current BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred. Must complete ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire (renewed every 2 years) and TNCC within 18 months of hire. Complete a basic dysrhythmia class with 84%+ within 6 weeks of hire if no prior telemetry experience; otherwise demonstrate competency.

Experience: Emergency Department experience preferred; 2 years of hospital nursing recommended.
