Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an ATRC/NMIS/UA Operations Manager (Advanced Test Reactor Critical Facility, Nuclear Materials and Inspection Storage Facility and Utility Area). Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Advanced Test Reactor facility, with every Friday off.
You will manage, implement, coordinate with cross-functional communication. Develop and establish operational policies within area managed. May participate in strategy development for corporate function. Requires detailed functional expertise and broad company knowledge. You will report to the ATR Operations Division Director.
Responsibilities Include- Manage the operation activities of the Advanced Test Reactor Critical Facility, Nuclear Materials and Inspection Storage Facility and Utility Area through subordinate supervisors and/or professionals.
- Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
- Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to the organization. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.
- Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
- Typically manage employees who perform similar tasks Manage supervisors, exempt, and non-exempt staff.
- Receive objective based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Responsible for single function, location, and/or technical discipline.
- Recommend changes to policies and established procedures that affect department or multiple disciplines. Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the department and possibly the division.
- Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units.
- Partner with key contacts outside own area of expertise and other external stakeholders.
- Communicate and present results and recommendations across discipline.
- Third level of management with human resource responsibilities. Typically, all work is performed through the management of others.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years’ relevant nuclear reactor operations experience with (2) years of leadership experience.
- In lieu of education (11) years’ relevant nuclear reactor operations may be considered commensurate with (2) years of leadership experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in reactor operations, testing and maintenance.
- Must have or have held a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification at ATR or similar reactor.
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain DOE “L”, C‑RD level security clearance.
- While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job‑related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

- The target pay range for this position is ($158,712- $237,174) annually. The full pay range is ($107,844 - $274,980). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
