Overview
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an IT Customer Support Technician to work on our Service Desk Management team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Desert Site facility with every Friday off.
Responsibilities- Provide technician support to diagnose and resolve equipment installs, tests, upgrades, software installation, software updates, and maintenance, including preventive maintenance on enterprise peripherals, hardware, software, network hardware, and software components.
- Repair and maintain equipment while minimizing customer downtime.
- Support and maintain ongoing development and continuous integration testing of research software and computational frameworks for end-user level workstations.
- Provide administration and support related to applicable operating systems.
- Manage hardware including racking, networking, and repairing systems as needed.
- Configure and maintain continuous integration software.
- Patch and maintain systems in accordance with company cyber-security standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Level 3: HS Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience with a preference of an Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or directly related field.
- Level 4: HS Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience with preference of an Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support or computer technician role.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Certifications:
A+ Certification, Network+ Certification, or similar IT certifications are desirable. - Technical
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems, experience with common software applications and tools, knowledge of network protocols and security.
- The pay range for this position is:
Level 3 ($26.36 - $43.48) / Level 4 ($30.84 - $50.87). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials. - TDP:
This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment. - Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, keyboard and type, operate a motor vehicle, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
Position may require overtime/irregular hours and working alone. May be exposed to discomforts associated with constant monitoring of computer video display screens. Intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior and various responsibilities.
