Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Analyst
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls is hiring a forward‑thinking Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Analyst. The position is on site with a 9x80 schedule and every other Friday off.
Responsibilities- Develop complex data models that serve as the back‑end engine for front‑end visualizations.
- Collaborate with the data analytics reporting team to design and implement laboratory analytics capabilities.
- Design and deliver data reports primarily using Power
BI and other Microsoft‑based technologies. - Identify complex problems, review related information, evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Apply logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and conclusions.
- Use data analysis techniques such as A/B testing, association rule learning, cluster analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling.
- Utilize data analysis and visualization software (e.g., Domo, Looker, Power
BI, Qlik, Tableau, SiSense). - Work with object‑oriented programming languages (Java, Python, R, Ruby, Scala, C++) and data engineering skills (relational/No
SQL databases, ETL tools). - Apply mathematical concepts (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics) to data problems.
- Use data science platforms/software such as Jupyter Notebook, Databricks, R, Python, Matlab, SAS.
- Level 1:
Bachelor of Science in Data Science or closely related field, with experience in Python, R, SQL. - Level 2:
Bachelor of Science in Data Science or related field with 2 years of experience, or a Master of Science in Data Science or related field, with experience in Python, R, SQL.
- Pay Range:
Level 1 ($57,444‑$112,068) / Level 2 ($66,504‑$136,356). - Multi‑level posting; placement depends on experience and skill depth.
Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, handle materials, manipulate tools, use keyboard. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Good visual acuity and hearing required.
