Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Athletic Trainer to join our team!

Description

JOB SUMMARY: Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for schools included in the most current MVH/IFCH contract. The head athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program. Oversee the scheduling of and communication with the participating Physicians while accommodating the needs of the athlete, parent, school, coach, hospital and the physician.

Participate in and implementation of educational courses in health care professions, with optional advancement in sports medicine and emergency care. Maintain necessary certification requirements to be able to teach at the high school level. Provide student athlete with appropriate health, nutrition, conditioning and fitness assistance and education. Represent and provide the highest level of care to the athlete in accordance with MVH/IFCH.

Benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and away football games. If a conflict arises between an away football game and a home contest, make arrangements for coverage with qualified medical personnel.
  • Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and referral patterns.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program.
  • Schedule and be present for the bump and bruise clinics as needed.
  • Provide the coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations.
  • Provide to each of the athletic trainers the necessary equipment, supplies and support.
  • Clear communication with other trainers as to their responsibilities within each school.
  • Develop open lines of communication with the participating physicians, providers and facilities.
  • Protect athletes privacy of information, records and injury status as per HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: BOC certified and licensed in the state of Idaho as an ATC/LAT. BLS/healthcare provider certified.

Experience: Work experience in an athletic training program at the college and high school level. At least 3 years’ background with MVH/IFCH employment in related field of practice.

Language/Communication: Multi level communication skills

Interpersonal: Be able to stay calm but decisive in possible stressful situations. Considerate, empathetic, cooperative while independent.
