Overview

Brick House Recovery is currently seeking a full-time Addiction Counselor in our Idaho Falls location. Brick House Recovery is a faith-based, privately owned and operated outpatient substance abuse treatment center with locations in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. CADCs ensure that substance abuse treatment services are provided in a way that maximizes client independence and family empowerment. You will provide individual and group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides individual therapy sessions and group therapy on a daily basis. Specific duties may include: family therapy, conjoint therapy.
  • Documentation and signatures in Electronic Health Record (EHR) including:
    Intake Assessments, Master Treatment Plans, Utilization Reviews and Updates, Progress Notes, UA results, Incident Reports and Discharge Summaries. These records must meet requirements of company and regulatory agencies.
  • Treats clients through a Treatment Team approach. Treatment Teams discuss and staff all client issues together so that the treatment team is empowered with insights to support clients in their progress.
  • Provide didactic or educational groups as needed or directed by superior or director.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Evaluates information to identify causes of problems of individuals and determine the most appropriate course of action and documents it in a formal treatment plan.
  • Conducts counseling or therapeutic interviews to assist individuals to gain insight into personal problems, define goals, and treatment plan reflecting Strengths, Needs, Abilities, Preferences.
  • Follows-up results of counseling to determine the reliability and validity of treatment used.
  • Provides crisis intervention and consultation.
  • Required to provide a minimum number of therapy hours weekly, as specified by superior or director.
  • Is required to carry a minimum caseload, as specified by superior or director.
  • May provide consultation/education to community service clubs, organizations, human service agencies, hospitals, and various county agencies/departments.
  • Participates in program development and staff in-services and training.
  • Performs administrative functions consistent with the needs of the program and under the direction of superior or director.
  • Participates in staff meetings as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, licensed in the State of Idaho,
  • Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor in the State of Idaho.
  • Minimum of 1-years’ experience with inpatient, residential, outpatient, and/or mental health care. Must have direct clinical and case management experience, group leadership experience and knowledge regarding ASAM criteria and the Twelve Steps of recovery.
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct the work of others, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, charting, Google Workspace applications, Microsoft Office).
Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced Background check with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and random for upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Completion of orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 30 days of employment
Level of Supervision
  • Works under minimal supervision and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals and consults with superior or higher levels of management on the more difficult and complex phases of work.
  • Is expected to be a strong self-starter and able to organize their time and work requirements sufficiently to meet established timelines and quality expectations.
  • Provides direction and supervision as needed to program staff as it relates to day-to-day care and service delivery and its impact on the client’s treatment goals and progress.
  • Responsible to ensure continuity of therapeutic care for ALL clients in the program by following all policies and procedures including but not limited to:
  • Medical needs.
  • Discharge of client.
  • Approving or denying special requests that impact therapeutic goals of the client.
  • Incident management, processing, debriefing, and related activities.
