Idaho Falls, primary work location will be remote initially. However, Quadrant Nuclear Industries (QNI) is constructing a facility on the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) site. Therefore, the employee must be willing to transition to regular field and site presence during design and daily site presence during construction. Eventually, QNI will establish an office in/around Idaho Falls, will become the primary work location.
Position Summary:Quadrant Nuclear Industries (QNI) seeks an experienced
Nuclear Construction Project Manager
to join a growing team to deliver complex, first-of-a-kind nuclear industrial facilities at a DOE site. Reporting to the Director of Design and Construction, this role involves extensive engagement in design and engineering, schedule management, cost control, quality, and safety, as well as ensuring efficiency during construction and startup activities, management of subcontractors, and integration of input from engineering, procurement, project controls, and client stakeholders.
1. Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (35%)
- Assist in the oversight of design-build documents, including site selection and design, general arrangement plans, plant design drawings, early release packages and full issued-for-construction sets.
- Engage directly with EPC and QNI leadership and team members to develop the strategic direction for the project and continually monitor progress.
- During construction, review and manage requests for information (RFI), submittals, non-conformances, change orders, field change documentation, and other construction administration items.
- Chair or represent QNI in daily/weekly construction meetings and issue minutes.
- Assist in the coordination and tracking of multiple concurrent QNI initiatives and milestones using comprehensive scheduling tools and strategic thinking.
- Manage the oversight of the construction execution plan and look-ahead schedules.
- Maintain accurate registers/logs for submittals, RFIs, non-conformance reports (NCR), changes, and key metrics.
- Coordinate sequencing and turnover with engineering, startup/commissioning, and operations.
- Champion a Zero-Incident safety culture and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Enforce configuration control and quality standards as outlined in QNI’s Quality Assurance Program.
- Support regulatory correspondence and documentation.
- Prepare and present status briefs, risk/issue logs, and recovery plans.
- Develop and maintain design phase and construction execution documentation.
- Contribute to design reviews and constructibility workshops.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years overseeing design development and field construction on large industrial or DOE projects.
- Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and cost control systems, particularly Primavera P6.
- Ability to read drawings/specifications and coordinate design changes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, and work in outdoor construction environments.
- Experience on DOE, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), or nuclear infrastructure sites.
- Experience with Quality Assurance Programs (NQA-1).
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety regulations and best practices.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training.
- Experience coordinating EPC partners and regulatory stakeholders.
- Willingness to relocate to Idaho Falls area; at the company’s expense no later than July 1, 2026.
- Must maintain eligibility for access to controlled information.
- Must qualify to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
