Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced individual to join our Overhaul Projects unit who would like to start a career at our Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) as a Subcontract Technical Representative (STR). The Overhaul Projects group provides tasking (defined work scopes) to the Program Subcontractor for execution. The Program Subcontractor is staffed with Project Managers, Engineering, Environmental, Safety & Health Professionals, Quality Assurance, Radiological Control Technicians, and Craft Workers.

The Program Subcontractor provides NNL a turnkey operation for performing maintenance, construction, system upgrades, and equipment installation in the NRF radiological, environmental, and secured areas.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary infield interface between NNL and the Program Subcontractor
  • Provides field oversight and coordinates work between NNL stakeholders and the Program Subcontractor
  • Participates in planning, development, management, and closeout of tasks assigned to the Program Subcontractor
  • Ensures the Program Subcontractor is in compliance with the technical and task requirements including radiological, safety, environmental, quality, security, and waste management through the review of Technical Work Documents (TWD) and in-process, in-field work monitoring
  • Responsible to maintain records of the work that occurred through daily/weekly logs
  • Interfaces with NNL project engineers and system owners to resolve technical issues or questions with the tasks, performs surveillances of the job site and work themselves or in coordination with NNL oversight groups and enters deficiencies found into a surveillance database
  • Keeps managers and project team members informed of project execution status for multiple simultaneous projects

Required Knowledge And Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Pay Range

$85,200.00 - $ annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
