Responsibilities:- Lead technical oversight for R&D pilot programs as part of product commercialization efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the New Product Development Stage Gate process to ensure successful scale-up.
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility assessments during project reviews and interface with customers to meet requirements.
- Author, review, and approve manufacturing instructions to ensure Batch Right First Time (BRFT).
- Perform post-batch analysis to refine and update manufacturing instructions as needed.
- Assist with root cause analysis for failed batches in compounding and recommend process changes.
- Support compounding staff through training in formulation principles and problem-solving during batching.
- Maintain awareness of manufacturing trends, identifying opportunities for capacity or capability expansion.
- Lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives related to product development and process optimization.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related sciences (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum five years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, ideally in product development and scale-up.
- Proficient technical expertise in compounding, lab batching, and manufacturing scale-up processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products; excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environments, and communicate effectively across teams.
Skills:
- Advanced degree in chemical engineering or related sciences.
- Experience with organic or clean-beauty product development.
- Prior involvement in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Ability to coach and mentor cross-functional staff.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments with moving machinery and variable noise levels.
- High consciousness of personnel and equipment safety protocols.
