Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This position is located at the Materials and Fuels Complex. Our team works a 4x10 schedule with every Friday off. INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE‑NE, providing nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability to move nuclear innovation forward. The MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities, and infrastructure that enables research and development of nuclear fuels from design and fabrication through post‑irradiation analysis.
Responsibilities- Compose, edit, and proof a variety of documents, reports, and correspondence; design and/or create charts and graphs for oral presentations; initiate and respond directly to routine and non‑routine correspondence; respond to inquiries and complete periodic and special reports.
- Order supplies by generating requisitions through company‑provided systems; serve as point of contact and escort for vendors performing maintenance on office or facility equipment.
- Receive, refer, and answer inquiries regarding organizational activities.
- Manage and coordinate multiple calendars/schedules accurately while prioritizing time‑management needs.
- Proactively resolve scheduling conflicts and coordinate collaborative meetings.
- Support office operations by coordinating information requests or providing general direction to others across INL.
- Coordinate travel accommodations for the organization(s) and prepare travel expense records.
- Handle classified and unclassified sensitive data and materials according to protocol while maintaining all security and safety protocols.
- Advise managers on decisions to retain, store, or destroy organization records, ensuring special record‑keeping requirements are met for various record classifications.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive and controlled documents.
- Facilitate phone/move requests, logistical space coordination, onboarding of new employees, and other service requests.
- Monitor status of critical items, assignments, and deadlines to ensure timely completion.
- May escort un‑cleared visitors as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Level 3:
Graduation from high school or equivalency and 4+ years of related experience. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L/Q" clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including extensive knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience managing multiple calendars and schedules.
- Experience working at the Materials and Fuels Complex.
- The pay range for this position is Level 3 ($22.93/hour – $37.82/hour). Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

This is a testing designated position; a pre‑employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of employment is required. - Multi‑Level: This is a multi‑level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level depending on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, operate a computer keyboard or type, handle materials, or reach with hands and arms performing the essential functions of the classification. The duties require sitting for long periods, accessing stored file boxes and file cabinets, and moving and organizing physical file materials. The employee must occasionally lift 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, conduct research and inspect materials.
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate effectively in person, by telephone or electronic mail. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
