Role Summary
The Team Lead – Document Review Services is responsible for supervising document review projects and leading review teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality project delivery. This role acts as a subject matter expert and first escalation point for reviewers while working closely with Review Managers to manage workflows, maintain quality standards, and meet client service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
Review documents for relevance, privilege, and responsiveness based on client guidelines.
Conduct quality control (QC) reviews to ensure coding accuracy and consistency.
Create and optimize search queries to identify relevant documents.
Support preparation of reports, findings, and project summaries.
Design and implement document review workflows aligned with client requirements.
Monitor project progress and provide status updates to project leadership.
Identify and escalate review issues, inconsistencies, or workflow challenges.
Assist in preparing productivity, quality, and performance metrics.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead document review teams of approximately 10–20 reviewers.
Provide guidance on review protocols, coding decisions, and legal issues.
Act as the first point of escalation for reviewer questions.
Monitor team productivity, quality, and adherence to project guidelines.
Support training and onboarding of new reviewers when required.
Qualifications & Experience
LLB (3-year or 5-year program) or LLM.
Minimum 5 years of experience in document review or eDiscovery services.
At least 1 year of experience in a formal team leadership or supervisory role within document review projects
Familiarity with U.S. litigation processes and legal review methodologies.
Experience with the deposition process and Antitrust is an asset.
Hands-on experience with Relativity platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to create and validate advanced search queries.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder management skills
Candidate should be willing to provide support to the US business / US time zone when required, based on project or client needs.
