The ideal candidate will drive standardized reporting, centralized semantic modeling, automation, ML-enabled insights, and scalable data architecture using Microsoft Fabric and modern Azure data platforms.
This role is responsible for ensuring that every report, dashboard, and analytics product is:
· Accurate
· Scalable
· Secure
· Business-aligned
· Performance-optimized
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and mentor the Reporting and Analytics team across daily, weekly, and ad-hoc reporting.
· Define and enforce enterprise reporting standards, naming conventions, and modeling practices.
· Drive centralized semantic model strategy to prevent report duplication and KPI inconsistency.
· Establish reporting SLAs, TAT tracking, and performance benchmarks.
· Own reporting governance and certification process.
· Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Leadership to define measurable KPIs.
· Design scalable product analytics frameworks (funnels, cohort analysis, retention tracking, attribution models).
· Drive business insights beyond reporting — focus on decision-enabling analytics.
· Translate business goals into measurable analytics layers.
· Support experimentation frameworks (A/B testing metrics, impact measurement).
· Design and manage enterprise data architecture using:
o Microsoft Fabric
o One Lake (Delta Lake format)
o Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
· Implement centralized semantic models in Fabric.
· Optimize use of Direct Lake vs Import vs Direct Query modes.
· Drive environment segregation (Dev/Test/Prod) using Deployment Pipelines or Git integration.
· Coordinate schema evolution and source data validation.
· Oversee ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Databricks and Fabric pipelines.
· Implement incremental refresh and partition strategies.
· Automate reporting pipelines using scheduled refresh and job orchestration.
· Monitor refresh failures and capacity utilization.
· Improve reporting reliability and reduce manual dependencies.
· Collaborate with ML engineers or build predictive use cases such as:
o Demand forecasting
o Customer churn prediction
o Lead scoring
o Trend detection
· Enable ML output integration into Power BI/Fabric dashboards.
· Ensure model outputs are business-ready and validated.
· Enforce RBAC policies and workspace-level access control.
· Implement dynamic RLS using Entra mapping.
· Manage data security using:
o Azure Key Vault
o Secure credential management
o PII handling standards
· Maintain audit logs and compliance readiness (SOC 2 awareness preferred).
· Control dataset sprawl and workspace governance.
· Monitor Fabric capacity usage (e.g., F64 and above).
· Optimize model size, refresh strategy, and high-cardinality structures.
· Reduce unnecessary compute and storage costs.
· Proactively identify performance bottlenecks before escalation.
Technical Expertise:
· Microsoft Fabric (One Lake, Direct Lake, Deployment Pipelines)
· Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Semantic Models
· Advanced DAX and data modeling (Star schema expertise mandatory)
· Azure Databricks and Delta Lake
· Azure SQL / Synapse exposure
· ETL/ELT design principles
· Medallion Architecture implementation
· Incremental refresh & partition management
· Dev Ops / Git integration for BI artifacts
· Jira / Azure Dev Ops for workflow management
· Capacity monitoring and performance tuning
· Basic ML/AI integration knowledge preferred
Leadership & Stratergic
Skills:
· Experience leading cross-functional BI/reporting teams.
· Strong architectural thinking beyond dashboard creation.
· Ability to balance speed vs governance.
· Strong stakeholder communication and executive reporting skills.
· Escalation handling and structured problem-solving.
· Ownership mindset and delivery accountability.
Qulaifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Intelligence.
· 8+ years of experience in enterprise reporting / BI / analytics roles.
· 3+ years managing reporting or analytics teams.
· Experience implementing Microsoft Fabric or enterprise Power BI environments.
· Experience with data governance frameworks and reporting SLAs.
