Role

Title:

Scrum Master

Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for leading and coaching teams that deliver customer and business value with speed and quality. You will use your growth mindset to empower, motivate and mature the Agile capabilities of the teams you support in a way that results in measurable improvements. You will oversee and champion Scrum and Kanban events and artifacts, report on and monitor work progress, identify potential risks and dependencies, remove impediments, lead the team to continuously improve and help scale best practices at Marriott.

Effectively and efficiently manages the development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile development environment. Runs daily scrums, collaborates on requirement documentation, and unblocks barriers to keep the team moving. Coaches and collaborates with cross-functional teams, Product Owners, other Scrum Masters to foster decision-making and continuous improvement. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and guide the development of agile capabilities in the Global Technology organization and across Marriott’s portfolio of products.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience acting as Scrum master for large teams with multiple product deliveries and demonstrated ability to develop and mature Agile best practices across teams  will drive measurable improvements to predictability and quality for product delivery. You have a strong interest in process definition and ongoing improvement. You have a successful track record of using metrics across discovery, implementation and release to facilitate accountability and increased visibility into team performance.

Job Responsibilities:

Facilitates the work of a squad team on a sprint-by-sprint basis
Responsible for steering contributors through all the scrum ceremonies including sprint increment planning, demos, reviews
Drives the squad to continuously improve through the facilitation of Retrospectives quarterly, or more often as needed, to improve backlog management, sprint reviews, or higher-level functions
Project Leadership
Functions as escalation point for the squad to resolve issues
Maintains agile tools and dashboards to track stories, defects, and progress toward commitments managing Program Increments, Projects and Policies
Serves as liaison with stakeholders, development agency and hosting provider
Directs and coordinates activities to monitor feature(s) and project(s) so that they progress on schedule and within budget
