Job Description:

Project Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Lead to spearhead platform modernization. This role focuses on the end to-end infrastructure lifecycle of upgrading on-premises Pega environment from version 8.6.6 to the latest Pega Infinity '25 release. The successful candidate will transition legacy stack to a modern, containerized architecture while ensuring zero-downtime availability.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Technical

Qualification:

• Overall 7+years and 5+ years relevant infrastructure experience for at least 2-3 projects.

• Containerization:
Deep experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and Helm.

• OS & Middleware:
Advanced knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and Application Servers (Apache Tomcat).

• Database:
Strong SQL skills

• Search & Data:
Proficiency in configuring Open Search (which replaces older Elasticsearch versions) and Kafka-based Stream services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Transition:
Lead the migration from legacy VM-based deployments to a containerized environment (Kubernetes).

• Upgrade Execution:
Perform "Out-of-Place" upgrades.

• Infrastructure Automation:
Utilize Pega Helm Charts to automate the deployment of web, batch, and stream tiers in the new environment.

• Database Optimization:
Collaborate with DBAs to manage schema changes, specifically focusing on the Split Schema architecture.

• Connectivity & Security:
Reconfigure and validate Load Balancers, SSL/TLS certificates, and integration endpoints (REST/SOAP/Kafka) for the new version.

• Performance Tuning:
Optimize JVM settings, Hazelcast clustering, and Kafka/Stream service configurations.

• Zero-Downtime Planning:
Design and execute a deployment strategy to minimize business impact during the cutover.
