Job Summary
Client is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Architect & Engineer to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE). This is a hybrid role where you will provide architecture leadership for enterprise-scale cloud solutions while also executing hands-on engineering delivery.

We are specifically looking for a candidate with very strong hands-on engineering capabilities who can design, build, and implement cloud-native solutions end-to-end. The successful candidate will help shape Singlife’s cloud standards, security controls, and cost optimization practices while working closely with application, operations, and business teams. You will bring deep expertise in AWS services, CI/CD automation, Java (with strong proficiency in the Spring Boot framework), scripting, and cloud security, combined with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership

• Lead the design of cloud-native architectures for complex, large-scale enterprise and digital-native workloads.

• Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, and best practices for multi-tier, microservices, and serverless applications.

• Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for scalability, resilience, performance, and cost optimization.

• Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to align architectures with organizational goals and compliance standards.

Engineering Execution
We are looking for a candidate with strong hands-on engineering capabilities who can translate architecture into working solutions. This includes:

• Building and deploying cloud-native applications using Java with the Spring Boot framework and related technologies.

• Architecting and implementing Git Lab CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable delivery.

• Provisioning and managing AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, and ELB.

• Automating infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure-as-Code (Cloud Formation, Terraform).

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across applications and infrastructure in both production and non-production environments.

Collaboration & Governance

• Work with Cloud Ops, DBA, Security, and application teams to deliver compliant and cost-optimized solutions.

• Ensure designs and implementations meet Singlife’s cloud governance and security standards.

• Support the CCoE in driving adoption of best practices and reusable frameworks across projects.

• Contribute to technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering roles.

• Hands-on expertise with AWS core services (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, ELB, VPC, IAM).

• Solid understanding of container-based deployments, orchestration, and lifecycle management.

• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Bash, or Power Shell.

• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure architectures.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and automation frameworks (Git Lab, Cloud Formation, Terraform).

• Working knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and encryption practices.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance tuning skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage executives, architects, and developers.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications:
Solutions Architect – Professional, Dev Ops Engineer – Professional.

• Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS) and serverless design patterns.

• Knowledge of observability frameworks (Cloud Watch, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus).

• Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures (AWS and OCI).

• Experience working in high-scale, high-availability environments.

• Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end architecture + engineering projects in enterprise or digital-native organizations.
