Role Summary
The Senior Security Engineer plays a critical role in strengthening and maturing the organization’s Cybersecurity Program, with a primary focus on Risk Management and Incident Response. This role involves conducting risk assessments for third parties, systems, and cloud environments, as well as leading incident response preparedness through tabletop exercises and remediation planning.
The position works closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and requires strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
️ Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of the Information Security Program, including:
- Policy and document maintenance
- Risk assessments
- Security controls and technical oversight
- Maintain and update information security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct periodic risk analysis and risk management assessments.
- Lead application security reviews, vulnerability management, and incident management activities.
- Organize and conduct incident response tabletop exercises and track remediation of identified gaps.
- Evaluate, select, and support implementation of information security tools.
- Work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation for leadership and compliance needs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Technical Expertise & Skills
- Hands-on experience with HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, NIST, and other security frameworks.
- Strong background in technical security engineering and GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance).
- Experience securing information systems, networks, and cloud environments.
- Exposure to healthcare security environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of cyber threats, attack techniques, threat vectors, risk management, and incident response.
- Experience supporting third-party risk assessments, vendor due diligence, or M&A activities (plus).
- Strong understanding of:
- Operating systems:
Windows, Linux, Unix
- Applications, databases, and middleware security
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment; capable of working independently and in teams.
Education & Certifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field – Required
- UG:
Any Graduate
Security Certifications (Required – Any One)
- CEH
- CISSP
- GCIH
- GSEC
- Or equivalent industry-recognized security certification
Experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience (2–3 years) – Preferred
