Job Title:

Discovery and Design Specialist – Desktop Management

Role Overview :

The Discovery and Design Specialist will be responsible for assessing, analyzing, and designing desktop management solutions that align with organizational goals. This role focuses on understanding current infrastructure, identifying gaps, and creating scalable, secure, and efficient designs for endpoint management, ensuring seamless user experience and compliance with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Discovery Phase:
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing desktop infrastructure, applications, and user requirements.
- Gather data on hardware, software, network configurations, and security policies.
- Identify pain points, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Design Phase:
- Develop architecture and design documents for desktop management solutions (e.g., OS deployment, patching, application packaging, endpoint security).
- Define standards for device lifecycle management, including provisioning, updates, and retirement.
- Design integration strategies with enterprise tools such as SCCM/MECM, Intune, Active Directory, and cloud services.

- Collaboration:

- Work closely with stakeholders (IT, security, compliance, and business units) to validate requirements and design decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to implementation teams and ensure adherence to design principles.
- Documentation & Governance:
- Create detailed design documentation, workflows, and configuration guides.
- Establish governance models for desktop management processes and tools.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM/MECM, Intune) and related technologies.
- Experience in Windows OS deployment, patch management, and application packaging.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and security compliance standards.
- Ability to analyze complex environments and propose scalable solutions.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with cloud-based endpoint management and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with automation tools (Power Shell, scripting).
- ITIL or similar process framework knowledge.
